TL;DR — Ruling

WHEREFORE , the decision of the Regional Trial Court of Naga City, Branch 25, finding accused-appellant Raul Berana y Guevarra guilty beyond reasonable doubt of rape is AFFIRMED with the modification that accused-appellant is sentenced to suffer the penalty of reclusion perpetua . Accused-appellant is ordered to pay complainant Ma. Elena M. Jarcia the sum of P50,000 by way of civil indemnity and P50,000 as moral damages.

Accused-appellant is ordered to pay complainant Ma. Elena M. Jarcia the sum of P50,000 by way of civil indemnity and P50,000 as moral damages. Costs against accused-appellant. SO ORDERED.
