Terms of Use

Effective Date: April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PH-Law ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.

2. Description of Service

PH-Law is an online legal research platform that aggregates publicly available Philippine legal materials, including Republic Acts, Executive Orders, Presidential Decrees, Commonwealth Acts, Supreme Court decisions, administrative issuances (BIR), and local government ordinances. Content is sourced from official and publicly accessible Philippine legal repositories including LawPhil, SC E-Library, the Official Gazette, Chan Robles Law Library, and government agency websites.

3. Not Legal Advice

The content on PH-Law is provided for informational and research purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Nothing on this Platform should be construed as legal advice or legal opinion tailored to your specific situation, a substitute for consultation with a licensed attorney, an official interpretation of any Philippine law or court ruling, or a guarantee of any legal outcome. For any specific legal matter, consult a qualified attorney licensed to practice in the Philippines.

4. Accuracy and Completeness

PH-Law makes no warranty, express or implied, as to the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of any content. Laws may be amended, repealed, or superseded after collection. Always verify the current official text of any law or ruling directly through official government sources (Official Gazette, SC E-Library, relevant agency websites).

5. Document Templates

PH-Law offers 15 downloadable legal document templates based on Philippine law (including residential and commercial leases, employment contracts, deeds of sale, powers of attorney, NDAs, board resolutions, and more). These templates are provided as general starting points only, are not tailored to your specific legal situation, may not reflect the most current legal requirements, and should be reviewed by a licensed Philippine attorney before signing or use. They do not create an attorney-client relationship. PH-Law expressly disclaims all liability arising from reliance on any template document.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PH-Law and its operators shall not be liable for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in content; loss or damage arising from reliance on information found on this Platform; direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages; or interruption or unavailability of the Platform. Your use of PH-Law is entirely at your own risk.

7. Intellectual Property

The compilation, organization, search indexing, and presentation of content on PH-Law is the intellectual property of the Platform's operators. Individual legal texts (statutes, court decisions, issuances) are public domain documents of the Philippine government. You may view, print, and save content for personal non-commercial research. Systematic scraping, bulk downloading, or redistribution without prior written permission is prohibited.

8. Third-Party Links

This Platform contains links to external websites (LawPhil, Chan Robles, Official Gazette, SC E-Library, etc.). PH-Law is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of these external sites.

9. Privacy and Data

User Accounts

PH-Law requires registration to purchase legal form templates. We collect your email address, name (optional), and securely hashed password. Google OAuth sign-in is also supported. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Server Logs

Standard server logs (IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) are generated automatically. This data is used solely for security, error monitoring, and aggregate analytics. It is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Search Query Processing

Search queries are transmitted to third-party AI services (Voyage AI) for semantic search embedding. Queries are not permanently stored by PH-Law or linked to individual users.

Compliance

PH-Law processes data in accordance with the Republic of the Philippines Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173). Users in the European Economic Area should note that server log data (including IP addresses) constitutes personal data under the GDPR.

10. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use PH-Law to engage in any unlawful activity, systematically scrape or harvest content, interfere with the Platform's operation, or attempt unauthorized access to any part of the Platform or its infrastructure.

11. Modifications

PH-Law reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time. These Terms may be updated periodically. Continued use after any modification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate Philippine courts.

These Terms of Use are updated periodically to reflect changes in the Platform's features and applicable law.
