TL;DR — Ruling

WHEREFORE , the judgment of the court a quo convicting Lorenzo Andaya of the crime of rape is hereby AFFIRMED with the modification that the penalty imposed is reclusion perpetua , and the accused is directed to pay Nelly Solano, in addition to the amount of P50,000.00 as moral damages awarded by the trial court, the sum of P50,000.00 as civil indemnity. The award of exemplary damages is hereby deleted.
