TL;DR — Ruling
WHEREFORE, in light of the foregoing, the court finding accused Cristino Cañada guilty as principal beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of Rape, defined and penalized under Article 266-A in relation to Article 266-B paragraph 2, of R.A. 8353, otherwise known as "The Anti-Rape Law" hereby sentences him to suffer the penalty of RECLUSION PERPETUA, with the accessory penalties of the law.
WHEREFORE, in light of the foregoing, the court finding accused Cristino Cañada guilty as principal beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of Rape, defined and penalized under Article 266-A in relation to Article 266-B paragraph 2, of R.A. 8353, otherwise known as "The Anti-Rape Law" hereby sentences him to suffer the penalty of RECLUSION PERPETUA, with the accessory penalties of the law. And, in line with recent jurisprudence, accused is likewise condemned to indemnify the victim in the amount of P30,000.00 as civil indemnity and P50,000.00 as moral damages. SO ORDERED.
