WHEREFORE, premises considered, judgment is rendered finding accused RAFAEL DAROYA GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of MURDER and [is] hereby sentenced to imprisonment of Reclusion Perpetua in accordance with Art. 248 of the [RPC]. Further, he is ordered to pay the heirs of the victim, Rolando Songcuan the following: Civil Indemnity in the amount of P50,000.00; Moral Damages in the amount of P50,000.
