WHEREFORE , the petition is DENIED . The Decision dated June 30, 2015 and the Resolution dated March 14, 2016 of the Court of Appeals affirming the conviction of Kevin Belmonte y Goromeo for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, as amended, and the penalty of life imprisonment and payment of a fine of P500,000.00 imposed upon him are hereby AFFIRMED .
