WHEREFORE, the decision of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 23, Candon, Ilocos Sur, finding accused-appellant guilty of the crime of murder is hereby AFFIRMED, with the MODIFICATION that accused-appellant is sentenced to suffer imprisonment for a period of fourteen (14) years and eight (8) months of reclusion temporal minimum, as minimum, to twenty (20) years of reclusion temporal maximum, as maximum, and to pay to the heirs of the victim, Rodolfo Antonio Gadia, the amounts of P5,300.
WHEREFORE, the decision of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 23, Candon, Ilocos Sur, finding accused-appellant guilty of the crime of murder is hereby AFFIRMED, with the MODIFICATION that accused-appellant is sentenced to suffer imprisonment for a period of fourteen (14) years and eight (8) months of reclusion temporal minimum, as minimum, to twenty (20) years of reclusion temporal maximum, as maximum, and to pay to the heirs of the victim, Rodolfo Antonio Gadia, the amounts of P5,300.00 as actual damages, P7,000.00 as attorney's fees, and P50,000.00 as moral damages, in addition to the amount of P50,000.00 awarded by the trial court as indemnity for the victim's death. SO ORDERED.
