WHEREFORE , for his failure to exercise reasonable diligence in the performance of his duties as an officer of the court, [20] the Court finds respondent Sheriff Melvin T. Bagabaldo guilty of simple neglect of duty. Considering that this is his first offense, the respondent is hereby SUSPENDED for a period of two (2) months without pay. He is STERNLY WARNED that any repetition of the same act in the future will be dealt with more severely.
