WHEREFORE , the assailed Decision of the court a quo finding accused-appellants ABELARDO DE CASTRO and PORFERIO ESGUERRA Guilty of Murder is AFFIRMED with the MODIFICATION that the death sentence imposed by the court a quo is reduced to reclusion perpetua . Accused-appellants are further ordered jointly and severally to pay the heirs of Prudencio Lineses P50,000.00 as civil indemnity, P50,000.00 for moral damages and P20,000.
