WHEREFORE, premises considered, the Court finds the accused guilty beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of Rape under Article 335 of the Revised Penal Code and hereby sentences him to suffer the penalty of reclusion perpetua and to pay Marites de la Cruz the following amounts: "1) P50,000.00 as moral damages and "2) P50,000.00 as exemplary damages "SO ORDERED.
