Ruling

WHEREFORE, finding both accused [XXX268392] and [YYY268392] beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of Violation of Sec. 5(i) of R.A. 9262, otherwise known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004, each of them are hereby sentenced to suffer the indeterminate penalty of imprisonment of six (6) months and one (1) day of prision correcional, as minimum, to eight (8) years and one (1) day of prision mayor, as maximum. Each of the accused are ordered to pay the FINE equivalent to One hundred thousand pesos (P100,000.00); and each of the accused is ordered to pay twenty five thousand pesos (P25,000.00), as moral damages to the heirs of private complainant [AAA268392]. Further, both accused are DIRECTED to UNDERGO mandatory psychological counselling or psychiatric treatment and shall REPORT compliance thereof to the court within fifteen (15) days upon completion of such counselling or treatment. SO ORDERED.
