WHEREFORE, premises considered, the accused [ PAÑOSA ], is found GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of murder and sentenced to suffer the penalty of reclusion perpetua without eligibility for parole. He is ordered to pay the heirs of Raven V. Rivera [PHP] 100,000 as civil indemnity, [PHP] 100,000.00 as moral damages, and [PHP] 100,000.00 as exemplary damages. Accused shall pay an interest of six percent (6%) [per annum] on the aggregate amount of the monetary awards computed from the time of finality of this Decision until full payment. The herein accused shall be credited the period of his detention (i.e. April 25, 2018) in accordance with existing laws and procedures. COSTS against the accused. SO ORDERED.
