Ruling

WHEREFORE, judgment is rendered as follows: 1. In Criminal Case [No.] 14279, the court finds accused Ariston Paterno, Jr. y Sales GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of violation of [Section] 5, [Republic Act No.] 9165 and he is sentenced to suffer the penalty of life imprisonment and a fine of [PHP] 500,000.00 2. In Criminal Case [No.] 14280, the court finds accused Ariston Paterno, Jr. y Sales GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of violation of par. 2, [Section] 11, [Republic Act No.] 9165 and he is sentenced to suffer the penalty of imprisonment of [20] years and one day to life imprisonment and a fine of [PHP] 400,000.00. . . . . SO ORDERED.
