WHEREFORE, in the light of the foregoing, the appeal is hereby GRANTED. The assailed Decision dated August 6, 1998 is hereby VACATED and SET ASIDE and a new one is hereby entered ordering respondent Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. to reinstate complainant Romeo F. Bolso to his former position as Installer/Repairman II without loss of seniority rights and other employee benefits with full backwages counted from the time of his dismissal on June 20, 1997 up to the time of actual reinstatement. All other reliefs herein sought and prayed for are hereby DENIED for lack of merit. SO ORDERED.
