Ruling

WHEREFORE , the Court finds respondent Atty. Berteni C. Causing GUILTY of violating Canon 1, Rule 8.01, Canon 13, Rule 13.02, Canon 19, and Rule 19.01 of the Code of Professional Responsibility. He is hereby SUSPENDED from the practice of law for a period of one (1) year, effective upon his receipt of this Decision, and is STERNLY WARNED that a repetition of the same or similar acts will be dealt with more severely. The suspension in the practice of law shall take immediately upon receipt of this Decision by respondent Atty. Berteni C. Causing. He is DIRECTED to immediately file a Manifestation to the Court that his suspension has started, copy furnished all courts and quasi-judicial bodies where he has entered his appearance as counsel. Let copies of this Decision be furnished to the Office of the Bar Confidant to be appended to respondent Atty. Berteni C. Causing's personal record, and the Office of the Court Administrator and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines for their information and guidance. SO ORDERED.
