WHEREFORE , the Court finds accused BENJIE CARANTO y AUSTRIA GUILTY BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT of the crime charged. He is hereby sentenced to suffer the penalty of life imprisonment and to pay the fine of FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS (P500,000.00) as provided for by Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165 . SO ORDERED.
