WHEREFORE, finding accused Pablo Estacio, Jr. and Maritess Ang guilty beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of kidnapping on the occasion of which the victim was killed , the court hereby sentences each of them to suffer the maximum penalty of Death ; to jointly and severally pay the heirs of Charlie Chua the amount of P200,000.00, as actual damages , and P1,000,000.00, as moral damages ; and to pay the costs.
