WHEREFORE , premises considered, the petition is GRANTED , and the Decision dated May 31, 2013 and the Resolution dated August 14, 2013 of the Court of Appeals in CA-G.R. CV No. 96760 are REVERSED and SET ASIDE. Accordingly, petitioner Pablo V. Raymundo is ordered to pay the Philippine National Bank actual damages in the amount of P2,100,882.87 with the following legal interest rates, in line with current jurisprudence: [34] (1) twelve percent (12%) per annum , reckoned from the filing of the criminal information on May 19, 1997 until June 30, 2013; and (2) six percent (6%) per annum from July 1, 2013 until finality of this Decision; and (3) six percent (6%) per annum from such finality until fully paid. SO ORDERED.
