WHEREFORE , all premises considered, the accused MONICO SANTOS [ y ] SANTOS is hereby found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of Kidnapping with Double Homicide and is sentenced to RECLUSION PERPETUA with all its accessory penalties and without eligibility for parole under Act No. 4103. Accused FRANCIS CANOZA [ y ] HERVIAS is likewise found guilty of the said crime as an accomplice and is hereby sentenced to an indeterminate penalty of ten (10) years and one (1) day of PRISION MAYOR as minimum period to fifteen (15) years and six (6) months of RECLUSION TEMPORAL as maximum. In the service of his sentence, he is hereby credited with the number of days he has undergone preventive imprisonment pursuant to Article 29 of the Revised Penal Code. The accused are hereby ordered to pay P500,000.00 for moral damages and P75,000.00 by way of civil indemnity to the heirs of Eunice Kaye Chuang and are further ordered to pay the same amounts to the heirs of Jovita "Bibet" Montecino. SO ORDERED.
