Ruling

WHEREFORE, the Court of Appeals' Decision dated 22 June 2012 finding appellant Ronnie Buat alias Datu Sinsuat guilty beyond reasonable doubt of rape and sentencing him to reclusion perpetua is AFFIRMED with the MODIFICATION in that appellant is ordered to pay the victim the amount of P50,000.00 as civil indemnity, P50,000.00 as moral damages and P30,000.00 as exemplary damages. The award of damages shall earn interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date of finality of this Decision until fully paid. SO ORDERED.
