TL;DR — Ruling

WHEREFORE, the trial Court's decision dated March 9, 2001 is affirmed, subject to the modification that the amount of actual damages, for which both defendants-appellees are jointly and severally liable to plaintiffs-appellants, is increased to P16,069.40 . Furthermore, defendant-appellee Dr. Ilao-Oreta is also held liable to pay plaintiff-appellants the following: (a) P50,000.

WHEREFORE, the trial Court's decision dated March 9, 2001 is affirmed, subject to the modification that the amount of actual damages, for which both defendants-appellees are jointly and severally liable to plaintiffs-appellants, is increased to P16,069.40 . Furthermore, defendant-appellee Dr. Ilao-Oreta is also held liable to pay plaintiff-appellants the following: (a) P50,000.00 as moral damages ; (b) P25,000.00 as exemplary damages ; and (c) P20,000.00 as attorney's fees . SO ORDERED.
