WHEREFORE, premises considered, the accused REYNALDO GABATBAT y BALBOA is found GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of simple rape under subparagraph (b) of Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code, as amended, and is hereby sentenced to a penalty of reclusion perpetua. The accused is also adjudged liable of civil indemnity and moral damages, both in the amount of Thirty Thousand Pesos ([P]30,000.
