WHEREAS, Section 16 of Republic Act No. 7 160, otherwise known as the "Local
Government Code of l99l'' states that:
"SEC. 16. Genersl 14elJhre. - Every local government unit shall exercise
the powers expressly granled, those necessarily implied therefrom, as well
as powers necessary, appropriste, or incidental .for its efrcient and
elfective governance, and lhose which are essential to lhe promotion of the
gencral v,elfare. x x x"
WHEREAS, it is the policy ol'the city to encourage taxpayer/s to settle promptly their
obligations and avail tax incentives/discounts; Efficient tax collcction redounds to lhe
benefit of the tax payers in the form of various projects. programs and services
implemented by the city for its constituents:
WHEREAS, Section 192 of the same Code likewise states that:
"SEC. I92. Authority to Grrmt Tax Exemption Privileges. - Local
governtnent unils may, through ordinonces duly approved, granl lax
ixemprions, incentives or relieJi under such lerms and condilions as they
may deem necessary. " .

NOW THEIIEFORE, BE lT ORDAINED AS IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED' by the
SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD of MARIKINA. in session duly assembled:
SECTION l. Grant of Special Additional Tox Discount. The City Govemment of
Marikina hereby grants Special Additional Tax Discount of Ten Percent (10%) on real
property tax due for taxable year 2020 paid in full on or before January 3 I , 2020
SECTION 2. Effectivily. This Ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
