WHEREAS, during a consultative meeting with the members of the business sector in Marikina
city and other concemed city officials, chapter 4, Section 37 paragraph (b) of the 2014 Health
and Sanitation Code of Marikina City was further re-evaluated in the light of various concems
raised by some employees in non-food establishment, among others;
WHEREAS, the aforementioned provision reads thus: (b) employees in a non-food
establishment, whether selling, manufacturing, distributing, warehousing and other businesses
including institutions catering to the public, shall secure Health Certificate (Green Card) and./or
Pink Card for employees from selected establishment as defined under P.D. No. 856 and (c)
employees of hospitals and other health facilities are also required to secure Health Certificate
from the City Health Office.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED AS IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED bv the
SANGGUNIAI\G PANLUNGSOD OF MARIKINA in session duly assembled that:
SECTION 1. Chapter 4, Section 31 paragraph (b) of the 2014 Health and Sanitation Cbde of
Marikina City is hereby amended to read as follows:
"@) employees in a non-food establishment such as hospitals, health clinics and
other heolth facilities, including massage parlor/clinics, physical therapy, salons
and sauna bath are also required to secure Health CertiJicate from the City
Health Ofiice (Green/Pink Card) ".
SECTION 2. Separabitity Clause. Should Section 1 of this Ordinance or the application
thereof to *y p"rron or entity be declared invalid, the remainder ofthe Ordinance not otherwise
so declared, shall remain valid and effective.
SECTION 3. Repealing Clause. All Ordinances, rules and regulations, and portions thereof
which are inconsistent *ittt ttis Ordinance are hereby repealed, amended and/or modified
accordingly.
SECTION 4. Effectivity clause. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
