WHEREFORE, premises considered, judgment is hereby rendered finding accused Anthony Velasquez y Madrigal GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of murder, qualified by treachery, and is sentenced to suffer the penalty of [ r ] eclusion [ p ] erpetua . Further, accused Velasquez is ordered to pay the surviving heirs of Mauro Mastrili, Jr. the following amounts, viz : Seventy-Five Thousand Pesos ([PHP] 75,000.00) as civil indemnity; Seventy-Five Thousand Pesos ([PHP] 75,000.

Further, accused Velasquez is ordered to pay the surviving heirs of Mauro Mastrili, Jr. the following amounts, viz : Seventy-Five Thousand Pesos ([PHP] 75,000.00) as civil indemnity; Seventy-Five Thousand Pesos ([PHP] 75,000.00) as moral damages; Seventy-Five Thousand Pesos ([PHP] 75,000.00) as exemplary damages; and The cost of suit. All damages awarded shall earn interest at the legal rate of six percent (6%), commencing from the date of finality of this Decision until fully paid. Consequently, it is hereby ordered that accused Velasquez be immediately transferred and committed to the National Penitentiary. SO ORDERED.
